Hawk-moth caterpillar

Found this character whilst at Restormel Castle in Cornwall. In this shot it had withdrawn it's head to give the impression that the markings were it's 'eyes'. Part of it's defense was to lift the 'head' and move it from side-to-side in a snake-like motion.
